When Whitney Anderson learned about the prevalence of human trafficking in Oklahoma, she took action to combat it. Whitney is the co-founder and CEO of The Dragonfly Home, a state-certified non-profit that provides resources and support for survivors of human trafficking. "I am passionate about trying to find solutions to close gaps so that people can get the help they need," she says. Since 2016, The Dragonfly Home has fielded over 10,000 calls from their helpline and served over 1,000 individual survivors.
Whitney is also a proud Chickasaw and says her sense of justice, courage, strength and tenacity come from her Chickasaw heritage. "I've heard stories of what my relatives have been through and I absolutely am inspired by their strength," she says. "It's something I think about every single day."
