May is National Foster Care Month, and here in the Chickasaw Nation, we know that it takes a village to raise a child. In this episode of Thrive, we recognize the people who made a personal commitment to help all children be the best that they can be. Meet Joby and Rachel Carpenter, a couple who have fostered 14 children and adopted three through the Chickasaw Nation's program. If someone is interested in adopting, the Chickasaw Nation requires him or her to be a foster parent first, a step that the Carpenters say is very rewarding in itself.
