The Chickasaw Princess Pageant at the Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival allows young women to honor their Chickasaw heritage through regalia, language and talent performances. Miss Chickasaw 2012, Autumn Underwood, explains that her past year as the reigning Miss Chickasaw 2012 has created an even deeper appreciation for her tribe. Every time that Underwood visits the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur, Oklahoma, she says that she is filled with pride for her ancestors. Inspired by everything that the Chickasaw people have accomplished, Underwood plans to attend college and pursue a career in nursing.
