Brent Greenwood’s painting “Alikchi” is currently hanging at Oklahoma City University’s School of Nursing. The painting, commissioned by his alma mater, illustrates the Chickasaw healing traditions. Greenwood explains that creating works of art, like “Alikchi,” enables him to connect with his heritage and show the vibrancy of the Chickasaw people. This year, Greenwood will also serve as an instructor for the Oklahoma Summer Arts Academy where he hopes to inspire young Chickasaws to find their passion in art.
