Savannah Burwell, 2013 Chickasaw Princess, joins Quin Tran as a special guest host on the August 1 episode of CNTV News. Savannah begins the episode by talking about the highlights of her year as Chickasaw Princess and how close she has grown with her fellow princesses, Junior Miss Chickasaw and Little Miss Chickasaw. We then go to the Chickasaw Cultural Center to celebrate the landmark museum's fourth anniversary. Since it opened to the public in 2010, the Chickasaw Cultural Center has welcomed over 250,000 visitors from all around the world. In fact, members of the Maori tribe, indigenous Polynesians from New Zealand, recently visited the center. Delegates from the Institute of Excellence in Maori Language traveled to the U.S. as part of a cultural exchange program, and the Cultural Center was one of their stops. Finally, we're introduced to a new camp for kids hosted by the Chickasaw Press. Called Ikbi Holisso, which translates to "book creation," this camp introduces young writers, artists and illustrators to the world of book publishing.
