This episode of CNTV News honors four Chickasaws inducted into the 2012 Chickasaw Hall of Fame, this month. The inductees include early leaders of the Chickasaw Nation, Levi Colbert and Cyrus Harris, retired Chickasaw Nation tribal judge Charles Guy Tate and historian and archeologist Towana Spivey. Also, learn about a new senior center in Connerville, Oklahoma providing Chickasaw and other Native American elders a community of fellowship. The Chickasaw Nation participated in Cultural Education Day at the Oklahoma Capitol. The nation's exhibit, Chikasha Poya, "We Are Chickasaw" introduced visitors to Chickasaw culture, history, businesses and people at the event. And the second annual Chickasaw Chamber Music Festival is scheduled June 1-3 at the McSwain Theatre in Ada, Oklahoma. A variety of musicians will perform for audiences of all ages.
