To begin this episode of CNTV News, Brad and Quin visit OKANA Resort & Indoor Water Park. Located in Oklahoma City's Horizons District, what once was an empty oil field is now a bustling destination for tourists and locals alike. OKANA's 100,000-square-foot indoor water park, extensive outdoor adventure area and high-quality amenities make this spot a one-of-a-kind attraction in the region. "When you come here, we want you to be transported to a destination that feels like you're not at home, feels like you're at the beach ... you can just totally unwind, relax and really get the value of what you spent to stay with us," says OKANA manager Brian Szydloski. To close the episode, two talented Chickasaw women publish their first children's book. Written by Dr. Amanda Cobb-Greetham and illustrated by Danielle Fixico, Little Big Girl is a story about belonging that follows a shelter dog in her journey toward finding her forever home. "I hope that it also teaches children that even if you don’t fit in where you are right now, it could be different in the future," Danielle says. "There's always a space for you." After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a master's degree in fine arts, Danielle is an artist and instructor at the College of the Muscogee Nation.
