Sick Childcare Program

Chickasaw Nation Division of Health

It's not always an option to stay home from work with your child when he or she is sick, and the Chickasaw Nation created a special program to help parents in that very situation. The Sick Childcare program in Ada, Oklahoma, provides a place for sick children to be taken care of while their parents are at work. The center's highly trained healthcare staff is capable of caring for children suffering from low-grade fevers, ear infections, stomach bugs and other mildly contagious illnesses. Children are divided into separate rooms based on their symptoms to ensure illnesses don't spread. Kids have the option of participating in activities like arts and crafts, story time and music, or they can recuperate while watching a movie.
