JoAnn EllisRaised in a household in which both her mother and father spoke Chickasaw, JoAnn Ellis remembers learning both Chickasaw and English beginning in her early youth. A professor at East Central University, JoAnn devotes three-quarters of her time immersing herself in the Chickasaw language.
