Dr. Whitney Tolpinrud

Chickasaw citizen Dr. Whitney Tolpinrud is a high achiever, to say the very least. The board-certified dermatologist, originally from Salt Lake City, received her undergraduate degree from the University of San Diego, attended the Yale School of Medicine, completed her internship at Harvard and finished her residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York. Today, she practices in Palo Alto, California.

Dr. Tolpinrud says she always knew she would figure out a way to give back to her tribe. For two days every other month, she travels to Ada, Oklahoma, to serve local patients at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center. Doing this, she says, reminds her of why she decided to study medicine in the first place.
