Luther John's grandmother spoke to him exclusively in Chickasaw, instilling in him a lifelong connection to his language. He remains a fluent speaker today and works closely with the Chickasaw Language Preservation Department to ensure Chickasaw is passed on to future generations. He works with the Chikasha Academy Adult Immersion Program students to help them on their journey of learning the language of their ancestors. He says, "I love my job. I really do."
